What improved security measures were implemented?

We enhanced door security and robustness with advanced anti-barricade systems.

Did it maintain accessibility and aesthetics?

Yes, it ensured a clear opening width while addressing the institutional look.

What specific products were utilized?

We supplied Symphony Doorsets, concealed closers, and anti-barricade systems.

Our Solution

We recognized the limitations of the standard leaf-and-a-half door configuration when it came to integrating anti-barricade access. This often resulted in a bulky meeting stile on the active leaf, compromising the aesthetic. Furthermore, such doors could appear institutional with exposed metalwork, making them unsuitable for residential settings.

The Solution

Offering practicality

To address this, they chose our extra-wide single leaf Symphony doorset. Aided by market-leading fire evidence, the leaf is 1100mm providing a clear opening of 1050mm – more than enough space for a service user and two members of staff. It also meant beds could be moved in and out, which the Trust wanted.

And the speed of installation was critical, too, because they wanted to keep rooms available while work was carried out – minimising disruption to service users. The rapid-install frames allowed the installers to remove and replace the doorsets in under four hours, including fitting a wall in-fill section.
