The Challenge
In our initial conversations with Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber (RDaSH) NHS FT, we understood that they were looking to move away from the traditional route they’d taken previously when refurbishing the existing ward. Our smart doorsets with full-door ligature alarm and integrated override lockset were able to provide just that.
Each of the anti-barricade bedroom doors at Skelbrooke PICU are fitted with our invisible full-door ligature alarm. The built-in sensor turns the entire door in a weighing scale; immediately alerting staff on the ward to a ligature attempt made on any part of the door.
Staff are able to use the custom-built live status monitoring system to continually monitor alarm updates in real-time – helping to fill in blind spots between observations.

Privacy, dignity and independence
Patient care and recovery were at the forefront of plans for the refurbishment of the Skelbrooke Ward. Our electronic integrated override locks allow patients to move freely between rooms where access is permitted; whilst the load release en-suite doors carefully consider privacy and dignity without compromising on safety.
